Here’s a Look Inside my Brain
I’m a UX/UI Designer Based in Portland, Oregon
Hey There!
I’m Carter Bell, a Portland-based UX/UI Designer and Illustrator who puts people first. With experience in Front-End development, I know how vital it is for design and development teams to efficiently work together- especially when there’s many moving parts in many moving hands.
My fascination in design has always been paired with a fascination with education, communication and noble causes. Every one of my projects has a purpose to serve and users to help. Let’s create something amazing together!
My Strengths
Human Centered Design
All of my work is designed to be clean and accomplish its’ goal in the most accessible way possible. Every design is built with the user and their environment, mindset and goals in mind to create a wholly fluid experience.
Communication
At heart, I am a people person. Engaging myself with others, encouraging teammates in their niches, and intercommunicating are all a massive part of my role in a workspace.
Front-End Development
A lot of my time alongside web design has been spent coding in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. A good UI designer needs to know the limitations of the medium, but a great UI designer knows how to work smoothly with their development team.
Problem Solving
The road to success has potholes, and getting over them isn’t always easy. When me or my team run into problems, I am eager to find creative solutions with the resources and time available.

“When you’re looking for who you are, you must first start with yourself. If you are trying to define yourself by the world which surrounds you; the people you meet, the places you see, you will quickly become confined to the box that you think the wide world has decided to put you in. You ask yourself often ‘What’s next?’ Interviewer, perhaps instead you should be asking ‘What do I want to be next?’ Through this you certainly won’t find every answer my friend, but it is a very good place to start.”

“I know the many people of the world can be good. Though so many of my people would not agree. But they are good, and kind. I do not ask them for favors, but they bare me gifts and stories I am unfamiliar to. So I believe that there can be good found in mortal people. The world is big.”
